Using reusable period pads for bleeding after birth
Share
After birth, women have to deal with bleeding for the next 4-6 weeks. Bleeding after birth is called lochia. Lochia is the discharge you have after a vaginal birth. Your womb replaces it’s lining after giving birth so this bleeding lasts for a while.
Why Do You Need Reusable Period Pads For Bleeding After Birth?
- Reusable pads are not flimsy. The leak-proof lining is best for heavy blood flow.
- Reusable pads have wings that snap into place so you don’t have to worry about your pad going in places.
- The last thing you want to put in your vaginal area is irritants. Reusable pads don’t have that. These cloth pads are safe for your delicate skin and toxin-free.
- You’ll never have to run to the grocery store and buy one. Just wash and use again.
How many pads do you need?
3 maxi postpartum pads for use after giving birth to cope with the heavy flow, 6 midi pads for medium flow and 4 mini pads for light flow.
How to clean your period pads?
Wash them on a 60 degree cycle with your normal laundry. If possible, don't use fabric softener because it could irritate your skin and can reduce the absorbency of the pads.
